DRIVING POSTIVE CHANGE, ONE TAX RETURN AT A TIME

During the last fiscal year, our gracious RealSense volunteers filed 1,368 tax returns for residents of St. Johns and Putnam counties, yielding nearly $1.94 million in economic impact within our community. By maximizing tax refunds and credits, we put money back into the pockets of hardworking families, fueling economic growth and prosperity.

VOLUNTEERS POWERING IMPACTFUL CHANGE

Behind every tax return through our RealSense program, there is a team of dedicated individuals working tirelessly to make a difference. Our 22 certified volunteers generously donated 2,814 hours to ensure these returns happened, amounting to an astounding $77,892 in volunteer value. Their commitment to serving others drives positive change and transforms lives. Learn more about our free tax prep program here.

EVERY CHILD AND FAMILY DESERVES HOLIDAY MAGIC

During the holiday season, 637 families received invaluable assistance from the Empty Stocking Fund. This support went beyond gifts and meals; it brought hope and comfort to families facing financial challenges during a special time of the year. Learn more about about our Empty Stock Fund here.

INVESTING IN FINANCIAL STABILITY, ENABLING PROGRESS

With a targeted focus on financial stability, we directed $281,000 in Community Impact grants to programs offered by our nonprofit partners. These initiatives equip individuals and families with essential financial skills, breaking barriers and enabling progress towards a brighter and more secure future.

Success story

When Susan experienced a high-risk pregnancy and was ordered to be on strict bed rest, she was frightened by the lack of income even though she was able to take time away from work.

By reaching out into the community, United Way-SJC was able to connect Susan with everything from financial assistance to diapers for her soon-to-arrive baby girl.
