Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Brings in 12 Tons of Food for St. Johns County Residents

On Saturday, May 11, the power of community was on full display as United Way of St. Johns County partnered with the U.S. Postal Service and the National Association of Letter Carriers for the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive—resulting in the collection of 12 tons of nonperishable food items.

All donated food was distributed directly to local food banks and pantries in St. Johns County, providing essential support to families facing food insecurity.

The success of Stamp Out Hunger would not have been possible without the dedication of postal workers, the involvement of Osceola Elementary School, and the support of dozens of volunteers and community partners. From collecting donations to sorting and delivering supplies, this truly was a team effort.

The Stamp Out Hunger food drive is the nation’s largest one-day food collection event and is held annually on the second Saturday in May. Community members are encouraged to mark their calendars and continue the tradition of giving in 2026.
