United Way-SJC’s Empty Stocking Fund receives grant from Trinity Endowment Fund

Trinity Parish of St. Augustine awarded a $4,000 grant to United Way of St. Johns County’s Empty Stocking Fund in December. The grant, funded through the Trinity Endowment Fund, was a significant contribution that was combined with other community donations that allowed United Way-SJC to assist nearly 600 families in need over the holiday season.

Florida’s first Protestant church, established in 1821, Trinity Parish made sixteen grants and distributed over $67,000 through the Trinity Endowment Fund since the first quarter of 2020. The Endowment Fund allows the Parish to more completely fulfill its mission – “To love God faithfully; to know Christ fully; and to make Him better known through the Holy Spirit’s power.”

With increased need during 2020, United Way-SJC welcomed the grant for the Empty Stocking Fund distribution. Partnering with multiple organizations including the Salvation Army, St. Johns County Fire Rescue and the Council on Aging, United Way-SJC was able to expand the breadth of the program assisting nearly 100 more families this year.
